The mission of the International Adoption Clinic is to serve the initial and ongoing medical, developmental and emotional needs of adoptive parents and their children from around the world. We are a non-profit clinic located at Children's South in Birmingham, Alabama. We are staffed with professionals who have a love for children that have been abandoned in developing countries and desire to see them accepted into loving and well-equipped families.
Most of us have worked in orphanages, adoption agencies, have adopted or have been adopted ourselves. Through our interdisciplinary clinic that includes pediatric medicine, occupational therapy, speech therapy and family therapy, we provide comprehensive medical services to assist parents in their exciting journey through international adoption including pre-adoption and post-adoption services. The clinic has been open for over ten years now and our staff has served children adopted from China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, Guatemala, Peru, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Ethiopia, Uganda and many, many more.
Families travel to our clinic from all over the southeast to attend our "Preparing Families for International Adoption" seminar.
Our next seminar is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2012. The deadline to register is Friday, May 25, 2012. Please contact our office for more information.
The Online Class is now available! Contact our office if you are interested in viewing the seminar online.
Families from all throughout the United States contact our office to receive a Pre-adoption Medical Review by Dr. Jennifer Chambers or Dr. Carin Richard Kiser. Please contact us for more information.
